And once you start practicing them you will wonder how you have lived without them for so long.detox formula 150x150 Why Detox Diets Are Good For You

Most foods nowadays are not natural, but commercially prepared to taste better and last longer. Thus, they contain chemical substances that negatively affect our body. The frequent over consumption of coffee and alcohol is also harmful to us. Toxins are piling up in our body which not only negatively affects our health state, but also makes us not look good and age quicker. That is why detoxification (detox) diets are here to help. The benefits you will get out of them are countless. Once your body is purified you will feel better, have more energy and be much slimmer, your skin will be smooth, radiant and you will look younger.

The detox diets are easy to practice. It is inexpensive to perform the dietary plans as they usually include only herbal substances, fruit and vegetables. Absolutely no traditional medications of any kind are required. The idea is that trough drinking a lot of fluids and liquid-rich foods your body will get rid of the compiled toxins naturally when you urinate and have bowel movements. You do not need to change your daily program to perform the diet, which is a great advantage especially for busy bees. Most popular programs last from one to maximum two weeks. This time is more than enough for you to achieve optimal positive results.

The online resources on detox diets are countless. Most websites will provide lots of ready plans that you simply need to follow. Tests to determine which ones will suit you best are also readily available. Tea and dish preparation recipes will help you immensely in keeping the diet. The additional advice from experienced specialists will give answers to all your questions. If you have any special needs, it is probably a good idea to consult your medical professional and discuss the dietary plan before starting the program.

Enjoy your detox diet – become healthier and happier.

4 Ways to Stay Motivated When You’ve a Long Way to Go

August 16th, 2009

Serial dieters will know that the first week, or even month, of a new diet or exercise regimen is often a time of super-high willpower, intense focus, and a sense of deep determination. That initial enthusiasm doesn’t last long though, and many people give up in despair at the thought of the months ahead – often regaining the weight they’ve managed to lose (and then some). So, how can you keep up your motivation when you know you’ve got a long way to go before you reach your goal? Continue reading…

Debunking Time Magazine’s "Why Exercise Won’t Make You Thin"

August 15th, 2009

TIME Magazine dropped a bomb shell article last week called, “Why Exercise Won’t Make You Thin”. This piece has ignited discussions and debates in blogospheres, talk shows and water coolers alike. I’m hoping to accomplish 2 goals with this entry: Briefly explain why this fluff piece belongs in a magazine that features Jon and Kate (whoever they are), Octomom, and the stars from that literary-turned-box-office disaster, “Twilight.” Set the record straight about exercise and fat loss once and for all (for now, anyway).

[Forum] Does Exercise Lead to Weight Loss?

August 14th, 2009

From Diet Blog Share: I was reading this article from Time Magazine, “Why Exercise Won’t Make You Thin,” and found it very intriguing. I wanted to hear other people’s thoughts on the story. It essentially says that exercise is not necessary for weight loss, and people will see results from diet alone. It argues that exercise increases appetite, and leads to over consumption–people would be better off without the exercise. What are your thoughts on this?

Your Opinion Needed: Too Fat? Too Skinny? Too Muscular?

August 14th, 2009

Negative body image is an epidemic–plain and simple. The psychology of weight and perception of “ideal” has always fascinated me and continues to evolve, for better or for worse. Obviously, women have different perceptions of what constitutes “ideal,” and there is an equally disparate range of what women are happy with. Continue reading…
