Tips to Boost Your Energy

  • Don’t skip breakfast! Research has shown that individuals who eat breakfast have a higher metabolism and more energy throughout the day. Studies have also shown that a protein rich breakfast with eggs, peanut butter, or yogurt can further increase your metabolism and energy levels.
  • Take vitamins and supplements. Vitamins and minerals support a wide range of processes in the body, and without them these processes can become sluggish.
  • Drink water. “Energy drinks” are full of sugar and caffeine, neither of which are healthy in large amounts. Drinking water, on the other hand, is a wonderful way to refresh and rehydrate your body.
  • Detox. Cut back on sugars, stimulants and refined foods. Eat a diet filled with nuts, fruits and berries, vegetables, small portions of fish, and lots of vegetable and fruit juice. You will feel great and your energy level will go through the roof.
  • Eat smaller meals. By overeating you will be burdening your body with more food than it can handle. In order to resolve the problem your body will divert energy from other processes to handle the overflow of food needing to be digested.
  • Stay connected with friends and family. Studies have shown that individuals who have strong social networks are frequently active, energetic, and healthy.
  • Meditation. Breathe your stress away with your favorite meditation technique. Yoga is a widely known and practiced method for removing stress and increasing energy.
  • Get more sleep. While this may be a no-brainer to some, sleep is crucial for our bodies and energy levels. When you sleep your body rests and replenishes itself. It is recommended that you get around 8 hours of sleep each night. Otherwise you may find yourself sluggish and drowsy.
  • Exercise. Regular exercise has many advantages, and by exercising you will increase your heart rate and blood flow which can lead to a boost of energy.
  • Get some sun. Try to get outside for at least 10 minutes each day. The body makes vitamin D after being exposed to the sun. Vitamin D has been linked to improved mood, energy increases, and lower rates of cancer.
